Panjab University Released a notification for Project Scientist, Research Scientist, Administrative Asst cum Data Manager Vacancy

 Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the following temporary posts in Research Project entitled “Improving adaptation strategies for climate extremes and air pollution affecting India”. The project deals with the engagement of Indian stakeholders (state-wise) and support climate change adaptation plans where we will maximize co-benefits by conducting the first assessment of the impacts of climate extremes and air pollution on human health for Indian states. The project outcomes will support the India’s Comprehensive Health Adaptation plan for Disease due to Air pollution (CHAPD) for climate change and air pollution. Posts are purely on contract basis initially for 6 months and co-terminus with project.

Post 1: Project Scientist (No. of Post: 1)

a) Qualification: • Essential: Ph.D. with ME/M.Tech/M.Sc in Environment Engineering/ Environment Science/Public Health/Remote Sensing and GIS/Atmospheric Sciences/ allied discipline from a recognized institution/ University • Desirable: Candidate should have at least two publications in relevant field and two year of research experience 

b) Salary: Rs. 80600/- per month (fixed)

c) Job Description: 

• A self-motivated, multi-skilled candidate is sought to join the project having experience and research record in climate change and air pollution studies. 

• The candidate should have ability to converse, make presentations, write academic papers, reports and collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues and researchers. 

• The candidate is expected to assist with the organization of workshops, meetings, outreach activities, and general management of the project as a whole. 

• The candidates should have an experience in handing the large datasets and have strong managerial skill to handle the research team and day to day project activities. 

Post 2: Research Scientist (No. of Posts: 4) 

Post(2a): Research Scientist (specialization in air pollution) 

a) Qualification: • Essential: ME/M.Tech/M.Sc in Environment Engineering/ Environment Science/Atmospheric Sciences/Remote Sensing and GIS from a recognized institution/ University • Desirable: Candidate should have at least two publications in relevant field and one year of research experience 

b) Salary: Rs. 55000/- per month (fixed)

Post (2b): Research Scientist (specialization in Climate Change studies) 

a) Qualification: 

• Essential: ME/M.Tech/M.Sc in Environment Engineering/ Environment Science/Public Health/ Environment management/ Remote Sensing and GIS from a recognized institution/ University 

• Desirable: Candidate should have at least two publications in relevant field and one year of research experience b) Salary: Rs. 55000/- per month (fixed)

Post (2c): Research Scientist (specialization in Public Health and Policy) 

a) Qualification: 

• Essential: Master’s degree in Environment Engineering/ Environment Science/Environment management/ Environment Law/ Public Health/ Public Health Policy from a recognized institution/ University 

• Desirable: Candidate should have at least two publications in relevant field and one year of research experience b) Salary: Rs. 55000/- per month (fixed)

Post (2d): Research Scientist (specialization in Communication and Public engagement) 

a) Qualification: 

• Essential: Master’s degree in Public Health/Environment management/ Environment Policy/Mass communication/ English from a recognized institution/ University 

• Desirable: Candidate should have at least two publications in relevant field and one year of research experience b) Salary: Rs. 55000/- per month (fixed) Job Description: 

• Self-motivated, multi-skilled candidates are sought to join the project having experience and research record in various fields as mentioned above. 

• The candidates should have ability to converse, make presentations, write academic papers, reports and collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues and researchers and various stakeholders.

• The candidate is expected to assist with the organization of workshops, meetings, outreach activities in the project.

• The candidates should have an experience to work as research team and handling large datasets. 

Post (3): Administrative Assistant cum Data Manager (No. of Post: 1) 

a) Qualification: 

• Essential: Graduation degree in commerce or MBA from a recognized institution/ University

• Desirable: working experience in handling research related projects b) Salary: Rs. 38000/- per month (fixed)

c) Job Description:

• A self-motivated, multi-skilled candidate is sought to join the project having good knowledge of computer, acquaintance with GeM portal, well conversed with accounting, auditing & financial statements, knowledge of preparing balance sheet and other activities related to smooth handling of project.

• The candidate should have experience in handing the large datasets and expected to assist with the organization of workshops, meetings, outreach activities.
