PhD Programmes are available on the following types:-
- Regular with Institute Assistantship
- Individual Fellowship (CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICAR/INSPIRE etc.)
- PhD through Project
- Sponsored candidates (IAR) in Engineering and Sciences : PhD programme for working professionals of PSUs, Govt. Organization, National Lab, Industries etc.

- Last date of Application Submission: 15 December 2021
- Tentative Date of Interview: 17-19 January 2022
- Tentative Date of Result Declaration: 24 January 2022

Fellowships: The Institute Research Assistantship shall be awarded for a maximum period of 5 years. At present the amounts are as follows:-
a)Rs. 31,000/- pm for first 2 years
b)Rs. 35,000/- pm for next 3 years
c)Contingencies amount: Rs. 30,000/- Per annum
Eligibility Criteria for Admission: Minimum qualifying :-
a. M.Tech (Master of Technology) / MS / ME (Master of Engineering)/ M.Sc.(Engg.,) with a consistent first-class record
A degree equivalent to any of the above with a consistent first-class record
OR
a. B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology)/ BE (Bachelor of Engineering)/ B.Sc (Engg.) with a consistent first-class record
M.Sc. (Master of Science) with a consistent first-class record
A degree equivalent to any of the above with a consistent first-class record
All candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program under the categories mentioned above shall have to possess requisite marks/grades in the qualifying degree as shown below:
Minimum 60% or first class (55% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination in Engineering /Science/ and/or equivalent
